Tomas Rosicky admitted how he turned down big money offers from China and Russia to stay at Arsenal, according to the Daily Mail.
The Czech midfielder has been rewarded by the club for his impressive run of form and at 31, Rosicky feels he made the right decision to stay at the Emirates, despite lucrative wage offers elsewhere, and he is ready to prove his worth at the Emirates.
“In both cases, it was financially huge numbers, so that somehow you had to entertain it – it’s not easy. Some days I thought about it, but money is not everything.
“I’m glad I’ll be able to continue at Arsenal.”
Tomas Rosicky’s form in recent weeks prompted some cynics to suggest that the only reason for the upturn in performances was down to the fact he was trying to earn a new deal; a claim that was wholeheartedly dismissed by the player himself:
“I want to say that what was sometimes written, that I have played better because I’m fighting for a contract, had nothing to do with it.”
There is no question that Rosicky has played a big part in Arsenal’s recent upturn in-form that has seen them close the gap on rivals Tottenham in recent weeks to just a point, with only 10 games to go, and Arsene Wenger will be hoping the Czech can maintain his recent run of form until the end of the season.
