In Pep Guardiola City now have arguably the best manager in the world in charge of a squad that has desperately underperformed.
Now though, if the Spaniard’s new side can adopt his tactics quickly and the likes of Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne stay fit, City will be very hard to stop.

Chelsea can’t be overlooked. The squad is still strong despite last season and with no European football they’ll be fresh every weekend.
United will surely finish in the top four under Jose Mourinho whilst I see Spurs pipping Arsenal given the Gunners (at the time of writing) lack of a world class forward.
Three to go down
Hull
Burnley
Watford
Hull are an absolute certainty to go down barring a miraculous turnaround. Burnley haven’t done much business and their squad is largely the same as when they last went down so I can’t see them staying up and I think Watford may suffer from second season syndrome especially given Walter Mazzarri is a novice in the Premier League.
FA Cup – Liverpool
I can’t see them finishing inside the top four so for any signs of progress to appear the Reds need some silverware. It’s Jurgen Klopp’s first full season and the only way he can show he’s the right man is to go one better than the two cup final losses last time out.
Signing of the season – Henrikh Mkhitaryan
The Armenian is top drawer and if he replicates the form he’s shown in the Bundesliga for Manchester United, the Red Devils will be a real force to be reckoned with. He carries a far bigger goal scoring threat than Paul Pogba and for the fee he signed for, it looks a smart bit of business.
Flop of the season – Yannick Bolasie
At the time of writing the move is yet to be confirmed but the fee Everton look set to pay is way over the top even in the current market, especially for a man who personified inconsistency for Crystal Palace last season.
Young player to watch – Marcus Rashford
For all the attention Zlatan Ibrahimovic will get at Manchester United it could be the youngster that broke through last season that gets the headlines.
If he does, United and England will have a real star.
Surprise package – Middlesbrough
I’m interested to see how Middlesbrough do with their new signings but I think Bournemouth will be the ones to watch.
Top scorer – Sergio Aguero
As long as he stays fit Sergio Aguero. He’s the best striker in the league and also has arguably the best service around him, it’s a match made in heaven.
