da roleta: Fabrice Muamba has shown small signs of improving health, after it was revealed that the Bolton midfielder’s heart is beating without medical assistance.
The former England under-21 star collapsed on the White Hart Lane pitch during his side’s FA Cup clash with Tottenham on Saturday, and was rushed to hospital, whilst the game was abandoned.
With Muamba fighting for his life, his carers have revealed that small gains are being made.
“Fabrice Muamba remains in intensive care at The London Chest Hospital, where today he is showing small signs of improvement,” read a joint statement from Bolton, Barts and the London NHS Trust, published by Sky Sports.
“His heart is now beating without the help of medication and he is also moving his arms and his legs.
“However, his long-term prognosis will remain unclear for some time.
“He is still critically ill and will continue to be closely monitored and treated by staff in The London Chest Hospital’s intensive care unit,” it confirmed.
Meanwhile, Blackburn boss Steve Kean has offered to postpone this weekend’s fixture against Bolton should the Trotters so wish.
“I think the whole footballing world has come together,” Kean told Sky Sports.
“Whatever we have to do we would only respect what Bolton want us to do next weekend.
“We hope he makes a full recovery but if they need a little bit more time and the game doesn’t go ahead then we would respect that from Bolton’s point of view,” the Scot concluded.
