Throughout the majority of last season and the first half of the 2017-18 campaign, speculation has been rife about the futures of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.
The former ended his time at Arsenal by joining Manchester United earlier this month, but uncertainty still surrounded Ozil.
Earlier today, a report in the Daily Star claimed that the Red Devils were pondering a deadline-day move for the midfielder having previously been linked to the 29-year-old.
However, BBC Sport, as well as numerous media outlets, have claimed that Ozil has signed a new three-and-a-half-year deal worth around £350,000 a week before tax.
The playmaker’s commitment to Arsenal comes on the day that the Gunners sealed the signature of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund.
With United seemingly thought to be the front-runners for Ozil if the midfielder opted to leave the Emirates, the fans have given mixed reactions to the news that the player is staying put.
