Crystal Palace fans believe that the club are heading for relegation this season.
The Eagles fell to a 1-0 defeat to Sheffield United on Saturday, their sixth successive Premier League game without a win.
Their last win came on Boxing Day, as goals from Cheikhou Kouyate and Jordan Ayew gave them a 2-1 victory over West Ham United.
Did he really play for us?! No Palace fan has managed to name all of these obscure Eagles signings….
Since then, they have drawn with Southampton, Norwich City, Arsenal, and Manchester City, while losing to the Saints and the Blades.
They are currently 13th in the Premier League table, six points clear of West Ham United in 18th.
And supporters are genuinely worried that they could slip into the drop zone as the season progresses.
One has to feel that this is knee-jerk reaction.
Palace have a soft run of fixtures compared to West Ham, Watford and Norwich City, who are all in the bottom three at the time of writing.
In their next five games, they take on Everton, Newcastle United, Brighton & Hove Albion, Watford and Bournemouth; the Toffees are the highest-ranked of those teams, in ninth.
They play just three teams in the top four – Liverpool, Leicester City and Chelsea.
West Ham, by comparison, play Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, Wolves, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United in their final 13 games, along with clashes with Arsenal and Norwich and Watford.
Norwich, too, play the entire top four before the end of the season and two of them – Liverpool and Leicester – come in the next three games.
Palace only face Liverpool, Leicester and Chelsea of those teams.
Add into that the fact that they already have a comfortable gap and a player like Wilfried Zaha, who has scored three goals and registered four assists in the league this season and who can routinely turn into a match-winner and one gets a clear idea of the attributes Palace have.
Despite the doom-laden opinions of fans, Palace have more than enough to stay up.
Loads of Palace fans have reacted to one man’s deadline day exit!
