da betsul: Roy Keane held talks with the Celtic board over becoming the club’s new manager but he now fears he has been overlooked.
da esport bet: That’s according to a report from The Scottish Sun, who claimed that the former Hoops midfielder’s chances of returning to Parkhead are fading following Eddie Howe’s interview.
Keane even ‘told mates he feels the chance has gone’. The 49-year-old reportedly split opinion with the Hoops hierarchy, with some board members wanting a more modern coach.
Howe also held talks with Celtic and even reached a verbal agreement with the club, but he has now had second thoughts and has since spoken to Crystal Palace about potentially succeeding Roy Hodgson at Selhurst Park.
Transfer Tavern take
To us, the Hoops should stay well clear of bringing Keane back to Celtic Park. He has been out of management for more than 10 years and has fewer than 200 games experience as a first team manager.
Some of the Celtic board liked his passion, but with a lengthy period out of the game as the main man, we feel it could prove to be a huge risk. The Irishman also comes with a reputation for high-profile fallouts with players due to his blunt demenaour.
Someone like Howe, who has more than 500 games as manager under his belt, has worked in a number of leagues under various restrictions and could be the better call for Celtic to make. However, with the 43-year-old having second thoughts over a Parkhead move, the Hoops may have to look elsewhere.
