da dobrowin: Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Teddy Sheringham has claimed that Harry Kane will walk away from the club if they do not start picking up silverware.
da bet7: The England international had another impressive campaign in front of goal as he took home the Golden Boot for a second season running.
Kane nabbed 29 Premier League goals, and he will lead the line for the North London outfit next season.
The 23-year-old is tied down to the club until 2022, but Sheringham believes that he will be tempted to move on if Mauricio Pochettino’s side do not start winning trophies.
The 51-year-old told talkSPORT:
“I would say Tottenham have got a year, maybe a year and a half and if they’re not challenging in the second year from now then Harry will want to move.
“They’ve got close but not close enough over the last few years and they need to get over that line.”
Tottenham have been steadily improving over the last few years; they finished third in the 2015-16 campaign and ended the following season runners-up to champions Chelsea.
They also had the best attacking and defensive records out of all of the clubs in the top flight.
However, the club have not won silverware since 2007-08 and they crumbled in both recent title challenges, with some questioning the young players’ mental strength.
